Hum to Heal: Harness the Power of Your Voice
November 18, 2021 @ 7:00PM — 8:00PM Eastern Time (US & Canada)
Join Womankind for an engaging evening with Stephanie Rooker, vocalist, therapeutic voice facilitator, mental health counselor, and founder of Voice Journey Sound Center. She is also a teaching artist at Crossing Point Arts, a partner agency of Womankind's Pathways to Healing program. Stephanie will guide us through a sound healing session, where we hope to create a space for deep listening, somatic awareness, mindfulness, and holistic healing.
The 1-hr long virtual interactive workshop will include an introduction of Womankind's healing work by Lira Kim (Pathways to Healing Specialist), followed by a brief overview of sound healing fundamentals by Stephanie Rooker. Stephanie will then facilitate activities that allow participants to use their voice to connect with their bodies, emotions, and mental states, as well as access to their innate capacity to create. Her Voice Journey® approach guides participants to experience the intrinsic power of their voices through simple, accessible, and liberatory practices of somatic centering, breath awareness, simple sound-making, and self-actualized singing.
No singing experience necessary.
Space is limited so reserve your spot by Tuesday, November 16. This workshop is part of our Champions for Womankind membership series and Champions are guaranteed a spot upon RSVP. If you are unable to join us after RSVPing, let us know ASAP. For any questions, you can reach out to Sumaira Mian (Development Associate): email@example.com or 212-732-0054x160.
