You're invited to Womankind's Community Healing event in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month!

We are bringing together friends and supporters in a collective space to explore diverse and effective approaches to healing. The past two years have been difficult, painful, and traumatic. In 2022, we are committed to intentionally building communities of care with diverse Asian healers to guide our path forward.

The event is two parts:

  • Lira Kim (she/her), Womankind's Pathways to Healing Manager, will lead a discussion with Asian healers sharing their own experiences and specific healing practices.
  • Then, attendees will be placed randomly in 1 of 3 breakout groups led by a healer, where they can engage practically with one unique healing modality.

Healers, practices and activities include:

  • Thuy-Lien Nguyen (she/her), Ever So Neat
    • Thuy will share advice on organizing, guide us in an activity where we learn to engage with our Inner Voice to make decisions while decluttering, and explore what we want to keep/release. Her methodology combines systematic analysis with self-awareness through Inner Voice. This will be a space where people can find acceptance in their belongings, their decisions, and mostly - in themselves.
  • Tejal Patel (she/her), Tejal Yoga
    • Tejal will guide us through a community check-in, meditation, seated practice, and breathwork. Her philosophy, teaching, and practice honors the authentic roots of yoga and is grounded in culture and social justice. The session will be inclusive and accessible for all body types and experience levels.
  • Alexandra Tse (she/her/they/them), Woven Bodies
    • Alex will help us explore the powerful effects of breathwork and self-touch and guide participants through a breathing exercise; learn about the Heart meridian (where it is//what it helps to support) and palpate the acupressure points along that channel, as well as massage the chest, arms and hands. Participants should wear comfortable clothing - no need to bring anything else but yourself.

If you are currently unable to afford the ticket cost ($15) and would like to attend, please let us know. Space for the event is limited. We highly encourage all attendees to RSVP by no later than Tuesday, May 17th. Champions for Womankind are guaranteed a FREE ticket for this event and can reach out to us to register. If you have questions, please contact Sumaira Mian, smian@iamwk.org or 212-732-0054x160.

We hope to see you there!
